This new composition for saxophone quartet (SATB) is dedicated to four of the masters of jazz saxophone. The individual movements are composed in the be bop style of alto saxophonist Charlie Parker, in the west coast cool jazz style of baritone saxophonist Gerry Mulligan, in the modal jazz style of soprano- and tenor saxophonist John Coltrane, as well as in the latin jazz style of tenor saxophonist Stan Getz. While each movement features a different instrument of the quartet, all music is entirely written out so that the work can be performed by both classical and jazz musicians.
